The College of Animal Science and Technology of Guangxi University has always adhered to the "student-oriented" educational principle. Through rich and colorful educational activities and strict discipline management, it actively creates a good learning atmosphere, guides students to establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, and stimulates students' enthusiasm and motivation for learning.
As the 2024 national master's degree admission results were announced one after another, the postgraduate entrance examination work of the 2019 Class 2 students of the School of Animal Science and Technology's Department of Veterinary Medicine has made breakthrough progress. There are currently 52 students in the class (31 girls and 21 boys), and 42 of them have successfully passed the postgraduate entrance examination or been admitted to graduate school. The admission rate has reached 85.71%, setting a new historical high!
1. Ideological and political foundation promotes academic style, and conditions guarantee helps sail far
The achievement of outstanding results is inseparable from the high attention of the college leadership team, and it also directly reflects the achievements of the college's "three-dimensional education" comprehensive reform work. The college strives to provide logistical services and conditions support for students taking the postgraduate entrance examination. During the preparation stage for the exam, special lectures and psychological counseling are organized to help students adapt and adjust their state and mentality at each stage. On the eve of the exam, the school carefully customized a "research" gift package for the students, including notebooks, water-based pens and food subsidies, to provide convenience and support for students' exams. Before the re-examination began, the college purchased equipment in accordance with the standard requirements of the re-examination examination room, carefully designed the room, the camera stand, and created a network interview room with a good environment. Solve practical difficulties such as unstable network signals, lack of bracket equipment, and noisy dormitory environment during the re-examination. During important periods such as preparation, examination, re-examination, and adjustment, information is released smoothly, and the leaders in charge of the college provide timely guidance for candidates on re-examination and adjustment.
2. Teachers and students work together to forge ahead into the future
The road to postgraduate entrance examination is full of variables, and what we can do is to have firm faith! Teacher Chen Ying, the head teacher of Class 192 of Veterinary Medicine, has focused on linking ideological and political education with academic style education since the beginning of school, combining discipline and professional construction with students' personal development, and guiding students to make good study plans. Postgraduate entrance examination experience sharing sessions and postgraduate entrance examination mobilization meetings were held to create a good atmosphere for postgraduate entrance examinations, carry out collective activities inside and outside the school, widely collect and provide postgraduate entrance examination information, carefully guide students to apply for the examination, and use various resources to help classmates realize their dreams of further study in various ways. Outstanding alumni and off-campus instructors are regularly invited to return to school for exchanges and experience sharing to promote the continuous inheritance of class style construction. The students actively responded to the call, participated in various activities, worked hard to learn and improve themselves, and followed the footsteps of role models.
3. Improve the disciplines and consolidate the foundation, and create a new chapter of class harmony
The college focuses on the combination of theory and practice, and relies on the deep cultivation of the profession and the cultivation of the style of study. It has carefully planned a series of academic lectures, professional skills competitions, etc. to expand students' knowledge horizons and help them steadily improve their academic performance and practical ability. Under the guidance of the teacher, the students of Class 192 of Animal Medicine spontaneously formed a support team to create a learning atmosphere of "competition, research, pursuit, assistance, and surpassing". Everyone often gets together to discuss academic and examination strategies, support each other, move forward hand in hand, and pursue progress and growth together. There are 23 formal party members and preparatory party members in the class, who lead the direction of the class like a lighthouse. Under the guidance of party building, party members always charge forward, set an example, and guide students to establish firm values, a high sense of responsibility and a lofty sense of mission. This kind of guidance not only shapes the learning atmosphere of the class, but also cultivates good learning habits for students.
At present, the pass rate of the English Level 4 in the class is 86.54%, and the pass rate of the Level 6 is 30.77%. The class has won collective honors such as "May 4th Red Flag League Branch", "Advanced Class Collective", "Top Ten League Branches" for many times in the past five years, and 43 students have won various individual honors above the school level. The students in the class actively participated in subject competitions at all levels. Three students represented the college as members of the team to participate in the 8th National "Eagle Cup" Small Animal Physician Skills Competition and won the second prize; another 3 students represented the college as members of the team to participate in the 7th National College Student Animal Medicine Major (Undergraduate) Skills Competition. With solid professional knowledge and skilled practical operations, they won the first prize of the group and the individual excellent awards for pathogen inspection and hemagglutination test. Under the influence of class culture, the students have achieved remarkable results. Five students, Guo Yanfeng, Li Bohong, Liang Ya, Huang Hongju, and Tao Baichunzhu, were recommended to major "Double First-Class" universities for their hard work and talents. Shi Hanyu was admitted to the College of Animal Science and Technology of Guangxi University with a high score of 365 and the first place in comprehensive results.
4. Unite as one to gather strength and work together to create a brilliant chapter
During the tense days of preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination, the students of Class 192 of Animal Medicine showed great perseverance and determination, and demonstrated their persistent pursuit of academics. They were not afraid of hardships, worked day and night, and interpreted the struggle and hard work of youth with practical actions. They spontaneously formed a learning mutual assistance team, encouraged and supported each other, and often gathered together to share learning experiences and preparation experiences, discovered each other's shortcomings, learned from each other, made progress together, and jointly created a good learning environment. They actively participated in various academic forums and skill competitions, and worked hard to improve their comprehensive personal qualities. They devoted themselves to studying professional knowledge and constantly integrated it. Behind their success is the unremitting efforts and diligent pursuit of every animal science student. It is this unremitting effort that allows them to shine on the battlefield of the postgraduate entrance examination and write their own glorious chapters.
Inspired by the strong learning atmosphere, two "student-dominant" dormitories appeared in Class 192 of the Department of Veterinary Medicine:
1. Eight boys in dormitory 605, East 1A Building. Among them, Li Bohong and Tao Baichunzhu were recommended to Huazhong Agricultural University and Guangxi University, Bin Rui was admitted to China Agricultural University, Xie Zhigang was admitted to South China Agricultural University, Shi Hanyu, Lai Pengyu and Yan Peng were admitted to Guangxi University, and Bi Yungui was admitted to the civil service. Although the members of the dormitory each have their own dreams from all over the world, they have established a deep friendship and are moving towards the goal of excellence together. In this warm dormitory, they are not only roommates who share a living space, but also firm comrades-in-arms on the road to postgraduate entrance examinations, facing challenges together and delving into difficult problems. They not only have outstanding achievements in professional studies, but also actively show their talents in discipline competitions at all levels and achieve excellent results. At the same time, they are enthusiastic about volunteer services, conveying love and warmth with practical actions. In classes and colleges, they also shoulder the heavy responsibility of student cadres, and have won everyone's praise with their sense of responsibility and leadership. These achievements and honors are all witnesses of their concerted efforts and joint efforts, demonstrating the excellent comprehensive ability and teamwork spirit of the dormitory members.

2. Eight girls in Dormitory 214, Building 22 East. They are united as one, working hand in hand, and writing their own chapters of youth. Each member actively responds to the school motto of "Diligence, Honesty, Learning and Innovation", constantly tapping their potential, improving their professional quality, and doing their best to dedicate their youth and blood to where the school needs them. Guo Yanfeng and Liang Ya successfully passed the postgraduate entrance examination. Among them, Guo Yanfeng was recommended to Huazhong Agricultural University, Liang Ya was recommended to Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Liang Ting, Zhou Qiyuan, Lin Keyan, Liang Shuyu, and Yang Yunmei successfully passed the postgraduate entrance examination of Guangxi University, and Pang Yudan went there for employment. Five people in the dormitory joined the Communist Party of China, and have won many honors and awards above the school level. All members have passed the English Level 4, and three have successfully obtained the practicing veterinary qualification certificate. They have won the "Civilized Dormitory" of Guangxi University for four consecutive years, and actively participated in various cultural and sports activities and volunteer service activities of the school and college. They always set an example by their own actions, actively strive for excellence, and make continuous progress. They have created a good learning atmosphere, witnessed each other's growth, become the driving force for each other's struggle, and interpreted "struggling youth" with their fruitful results.
